Dino was the brother of the trapalhão Dedé Santana, with whom he worked composing the duo "Maloca e Bonitão", in addition to numerous works made with Os Trapalhões. He was the nephew of fellow comedian Colé Santana. He only participated as supporting and unnamed characters, which made his recognition difficult for some people. But he played the character "Blessed of the desert" in the movie Os Trapalhões e o Mágico de Oroz. He also acted as an adjunct in the program Dedé e o Comando Maluco.
Dino died at his home in Rio de Janeiro, aged 70, from prostate cancer.
