This year's contest will feature a new category, for unusual sheds that push the boundaries of construction in ingenious ways.

Candidates include a stargazing hut in the Scottish highlands, a replica of a Hobbit hole from The Lord of the Rings, a shed built entirely from discarded materials, and a family home that cost just £1000. The judges will then decide which of the eight finalists is this year's winner.
