Overview
The story revolves around Delirium's wish to reconcile with her brother Destruction. To this end, she first contacts Desire and Despair, each of whom refuses to accompany her on her quest; and finally persuades Dream. According to her list, they consult people who knew Destruction; but each time these people are destroyed (such as a 15,000-year-old lawyer killed by part of a building falling on him), or driven into hiding (such as the Alder Man, who changes himself into a bear and has his shadow assume his appearance).

Delirium of The Endless enlists her brother, The Sandman, in her quest to find their long-lost brother, Destruction. And much to the surprise of Morpheus's servants, their master agrees to walk the waking world in search of his prodigal sibling.
3. Brief Lives, Part 3
Dream and his sister, Delirium, are walking the waking world in search of their long-lost brother, Destruction. They've made contacts and arranged transportation -- and, thanks to Delirium, they have frogs to spare -- but their presence in the waking world is beginning to cause some strange behavior in those they meet.
4. Brief Lives, Part 4
Dream and Delirium carry on the search for their missing brother, Destruction. Featuring an appearance by the nightmare known as the Corinthian.
5. Brief Lives, Part 5
Dream and Delirium retrace their brother Destruction's footsteps, taking them to a dance club for a meeting with the Goddess of Love, Ishtar. Plus, readers get to see a different side of Delirium, and Matthew the raven joins the crew in their search.
6. Brief Lives, Part 6
Dream begs out of Delirium's quest to find their missing brother -- which leads to Delirium locking herself up in solitude. However, big sister Death is none too pleased with her brother's actions and chooses to confront him.
7. Brief Lives, Part 7
Running out of ideas, Delirium and Dream meet with their brother Destiny, who gives Dream some information he may not want to hear. The siblings' search for their missing brother nears completion.
8. Brief Lives, Part 8
Guess who's coming to dinner? A family reunion leads to revelations and realizations as Dream makes a fateful decision regarding his son, Orpheus!
9. Brief Lives, Part 9
With their quest at an end, Dream, Delirium and the rest of the family go their separate ways. Actions in this issue hold great consequences for the rest of The Sandman series and mold the shape of things to come!
