Biography
Anthony Charles Scott was a Welsh professional wrestler who gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s. Known for his technical skill and versatility, he worked in various wrestling promotions across England, Japan, Mexico, the United States, and other countries. Throughout his career, he wrestled under his real name and also as The Checkmate in Texas for World Class Championship Wrestling. He was a champion in multiple territories, including the Southeast United States Junior Heavyweight Championship in the Continental Wrestling Federation.
He began his career in 1959 and left a lasting impact on the wrestling world, working in some of the most important territories of the era. He retired in 1984 after his time in Florida and passed away in 2015 at the age of 79 after battling Alzheimer's.
