After a doomed driver and his 3,600-pound million-dollar stock car become airborne and land on a telephone pole, the already embattled owner of Eagle Ridge Speedway, Christian Chandler, Jr., comes under greater scrutiny. Before he'll sign on as track physician, Dr. Richard Beckett wants to know why the car mysteriously malfunctioned. When he's stonewalled by Chandler, he launches his own private investigation that reveals evidence of what may have been foul play.
