1912 - Skarlatov Senior, head of the bank, dies; his son Boris inherits the bank.
1914-15: Boris has success with the bank, but his personal life is not going so well.

1931: Worldwide Economic Crash and a love affair that ends tragically.
1931: Enemies become allies.
1938: War is coming!
Boris doesn't want to leave post-war Bulgaria, but a new political regime is in power; the Communists take the bank and send him to a labour camp.
